About Me

Welcome to my website!

My name is Nikolaos Chatzopoulos (my students call me Mr. C) and I am a 4th grade Math and Science teacher and Technology Specialist at Plato Academy Schools in Pinellas County, Florida.

Originally from Greece, I have been living in the United States for almost 14 years.  I came to this country with a solid goal to fulfill my long time dream of becoming an educator.  I graduated as the Valedictorian of my class from Hellenic College in Boston, Massachusetts, with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.  I moved to Tampa, Florida in July 2005, and I have been teaching ever since and having a blast! Five years ago I decided to further my education, and in December 2010 I graduated from the University of South Florida (USF) with a Master’s degree in Elementary Education.

I have been integrating technology successfully in my classroom since my first year of teaching. I am passionate about empowering students by using technology in meaningful ways in order to create spaces for authentic learning.  My lifelong goal is to inspire my students and provide them with the necessary tools to become lifelong learners and global communicators, in order to compete and succeed in the modern, interconnected society.

I have been published in Edudemic and in Teaching and Teacher Education and I have delivered several workshops and trainings at school-wide and district levels.

I can be reached at chatzopoulosn@platoacademy.net

I tweet at @chatzopoulosn

Sincerely,

Nikolaos Chatzopoulos
